Back in September I had the unique and exciting opportunity to photograph a styled shoot at Tyler Gardens in Newtown, PA. If you’re wondering what a styled shoot is, it’s a group effort from a variety of vendors that come together to create a stunning mock event or wedding.

What was especially exciting was that Tyler Gardens had just recently opened its doors and this styled shoot was only the second to be produced there.

About Tyler Gardens

Tyler Gardens is reminiscent of the Golden Age of glamour. Built in 1931 by George F. and Stella Elkins Tyler, the gardens were constructed to create a formal landscape for their estate, Indian Council Rock. Today you can see the variety of flora, lush lawns and pathways that were influenced by French and Italian gardens of the day.

The Day

The day that we shot was sunny and in the mid-70’s — the perfect atmosphere to be in the gardens and capture this bright and Spring-inspired shoot. The rock star team came together to create some of the most stunning moments — and the backdrop couldn’t have been better. Each nook and cranny of the gardens provided unique scenery for our day.

Melissa May did a brilliant job pairing cheerful oranges and blues with the stately stone backdrop of Tyler Gardens. And that sapphire ring! We’re all still a little dazed by it’s Gatsby dazzle.
